I used to have a girlfriend like you - huge, wide-eyed melodrama; a fantastically dramatic, Silent Movies-style departure. Five minutes later she'd be back and we'd be having a cup of tea together laughing about it. It happened all the time. I spoiled it when I started chuckling before she'd even left...
